The Sebezhsky Wetland Centre opened on 25 May 2010

This visitor and education centre was developed with the financial support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Moscow through the project on Creation of a Wetland Centre at the Sebezhsky National Park as a platform for management and public awareness activities.

Here live and recorded CCTV footage can be seen of nesting grebesPodiceps cristatus, and other wildlife.

This two-story wetland centre hosts a child-friendly exhibition on wetlands and wetland species protected in the Sebezhsky National Park.

The Centre is also the ideal base from which to watch the water birds nesting at Ozeryavki Lake and to explore the surrounding forest.

An ecological trail starting from here goes up to the Bolshoi Grebel moraine ridge, with spectacular views.

A travelling exhibition introducing the wetland landscapes, plants and animals, and some key facts was also created under the project. A guidebook, a leaflet on the Sebezh Lake Country and educational materials were published.  \

The Workshop on Development of Recommendations on Wetland Management at the Sebezhsky National Park was held at the Centre on 25-26 May 2010, and was participated by 15 wetland management and education experts from Sebezh, Pskov, St.Petersburg and Moscow (See Workshop Programme).

There is also a small but well equipped meeting room for 20 people.
